Since it was originally his nickname, the rapper gave credit to his father. Moreover, Big Guwop’s grandfather was a fervent fan of the upscale clothing line Gucci at the time. As a tribute to his father, this eventually started the nickname “Lil’ Gucci” among his family and neighbors.
