The bugle has been blown by Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, in advance of the World Test Championship final versus Australia.
During a press conference held just before the championship match at the Kia Oval, Rohit predicted that his team will win if they were able to “handle the pressure well.”
“I have been given the responsibility of advancing Indian cricket and of winning as many matches and championships as is humanly feasible. “Winning some titles and extraordinary series is what you play for,” the India skipper said while responding to media. “That’s what you play for.”
“Hopefully, we won’t repeat mistakes of the past, that’s what a sportsperson wants,” Rohit said when responding what was the plan to face pressure in the significant WTC 2023 final that begins on June 7 at the Oval in London.
The final is scheduled to take place till June 7.
In addition, Rohit did not provide a definitive answer when asked about playing two spinners in the championship game. According to the captain of India’s cricket team, “We will look at the conditions closely and then make a decision on that.”
When up against an Australia side captained by Pat Cummins, India will be looking to veterans like Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane to help them rise to the challenge.
Since the beginning of the week, the Indian cricket team, which is now captained by Rohit Sharma, has been camped out and practicing in London.
