Longtime Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) member Shoaib Naveed has left his post to advise with USA Cricket.
Naveed has held several PCB jobs for years. He was PSL project manager from 2014 to 2016. COO of Islamabad United from 2016 till 2020. PSL Marketing and Sales Manager.
He served as PSL Project Executive for a year in 2019. Shoaib left the league in December 2020, and PCB published a press announcement. He unexpectedly returned as Head of Broadcast rights, Production, and Emerging platforms.
According to reports, he is consulting USA Cricket on Major Cricket League and other topics for compensation. PCB allowed Shoaib Naveed a three-month leave, breaking the regulations. He may get board remuneration during this time.
Naila Bhatti, League Commissioner, PCB, granted him special permission. Other colleagues wonder how he was allowed to work for another board and take such extensive vacation. Before arriving to Canada, women were forbidden extended leaves.
Sources said previous PCB chairman Najam Sethi nominated Shoaib Naveed as PSL General Manager before departing. This was not announced. His tight relationship with Islamabad United may possibly cause conflicts of interest.
Naveed ignored Cricket Pakistan’s calls and messages.
