Former cricketer Matthew Hayden pointed out that India’s Test squad has a huge hole since Rishabh Pant, who is now recovering from injuries received in a vehicle accident, is not currently playing for the team.
Hayden believes that India’s Test eleven would benefit from having Ishan Kishan wear wicketkeeping gloves rather than K. S. Bharat since Ishan Kishan is a more aggressive batter than K. S. Bharat and is also a wicketkeeper-batsman.
“Rishabh Pant’s departure is a significant blow to the Indian cricket team at the moment. Ishan Kishan is a more dynamic wicketkeeper hitter, and he also brings that bit of swagger to the batting lineup and in the fielding unit as well. If I were an Indian selector, I would absolutely go with Ishan Kishan.

The spinners have a chance to make an impact as the game goes at The Oval; hence, Hayden recommended that India include both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in their batting lineup.
“The best strategy for India is to use two spinners. In the case of Australia, it does not work, with the exception of the amazing turners that we witnessed in India during the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
“I am well aware that the Australian combination would invariably seek to have three quicks. It goes without saying that Nathan Lyon is our off-spinner, and Cameron Green has the ability to play all around. I mean, that’s how significant Cameron Green is, to put it into perspective.
As an all-rounder, he fills a potent and significant part in the team’s overall strategy. Therefore, it’s wonderful to have him in such good shape,” he remarked.
